I have always love the way facebook is used to increase sales and brand awareness. Most people do not like how much information of ourselves is out on the internet, however I find it very useful. For example, I "liked" a gun company because it said I could win a free gun. That got me to like it, and in turn allowed all of my friends to see it. This is an obvious domino affect as in they only have to give away a free gun, to gain about 10,000 fans in a week or so. Then they can use those fans to constantly update, ask feedback, and monitor comments and reviews. The best part about facebook, is it is free, and every one uses it.

Interesting that businesses are getting more frequent consumer response by "getting personal" with their Facebook accounts...also kinda creepy.
Turning lemons into lemonade. Bad advertisement can always be flipped and used to your advantage if you market strategically and find the opporunity to use that gained exposure in a positive way. Especially when the exposure comes a huge company like a lowes. Hopefully come of your most loyal customers will also chime in and have your back, such as they did in this article.
What a great article. One it shows that cusotmer's preferences can have a very large variety. Two, it shows us that you have the ability to put a spin on publicity to create postive advertisment, which reminds me of Dominoe's reboot of a couple years ago.
Great move by this company. By seeing the differences in customer tastes I feel it gave them a whole new outlook and appreciation for their current customer base. Also, great move to put a positive spin on an orinally negative piece of publicity.
I think that as annoying as Facebook is, it had the ability to be a great tool both for makreting and individualizing your identity.
Facebook is alreaady such a great tool. It is the Google of the social media world. Changing things up and always staying creative is a huge contributor to their success.
I love this! especially since I think Facebook is a great way to do fun advertising- a door commercial interupting my favorite show is annoying but a contest on "Which door is best" is irresistable. And the Lowe's ugliest door contest was a great way to get the word about her business out.
i love this! Facebook is a great and fun way to advertise. Door commercail interupting my favorite show? Annoying. Favorite door poll? Irresistable.
I work for a family owned restaurant and help with the social media on Facebook. There is little response to posts of events, discounts, promotions or entertainment. But, post a pic of food and the likes go sky high. Visualize the page and making it personal is the key I see.
