I'm now looking for a job and willing to use LinkedIn as a powerful way. Most job seekers really pay attention to this platform, so companies should build their page decently as effective method of promotion and recurition.
Agreed. my employer is growing at a 30% rate and from what I understand they don't use career builder or monster in their searches for employees. They have gravitated toward Linkedin.
This article provides valuable information on why you should use LinkedIn and would like to investigate the opportunities it can offer. As a student who will be graduating in 2014, this will be a helpful tool in my job search.
In it's current state, I do see LinkedIn holding value for job searches. I would be concerned about relying on it as a resource for company information. Users are not as engaged as other networking sites, evidenced by the activity on feeds and user response time.
Just like other social media, LinkedIn is a very powerful platform for companies to attract new clients and customers. When facing so many opportunities, the companies should use a comprehensive approach to miximize the business benefits at LinkedIn. This article shows five ways to build a LinkedIn marketing plan. However, those are general ways and each company should launch their LinkedIn company marketing strategy basesd on specific situation.
I have always thought of LinkedIn as only pertinent to people looking for employees or to people looking for a job. I found this article to be very helpful for understanding the other benefits and purposes of LinkedIn.
One caution, I would have, in creating a linked-in group based on your company is the group administrator would have to perform exceptional due diligence in the acceptance of new members to the group. For example you would want to ensure that the new members will represent the core values that your company represents as well as will portray your company in a positive light on social media.
What I got from this is that LinkedIn is like Facebook except for businesses. So, why don't they just use Facebook? I dream of a world unified under a single social media presence, rather than everyone attempting to establish a brand (personal or otherwise) across so many different platforms.
I agree with what Daniel said. A group administrator or administrators would need to screen new users and new posts/content carefully. This is not about positive spin or propaganda, but more importantly to ensure that content within a company LinkedIn group is relevant and appropriate for such a forum.
I feel Facebook is more suitable for product companies and Linked In more suited for Services sector. I may not be entirely correct but I really don't go to LinkedIn looked for product insight or promotions or coupons but mostly used for getting connected to like mined people or to get connection.
I have definitely started to see more and companies taking advantage of LinkedIn. Over the last year or so, several companies have started increasing their presence on linked in through groups, ads and job posting. Not only is this beneficial to brand exposure by also gaining exposure to other businesses as well.

I agree that having Linked In plan is important! If you don't have a focus, people will not know what to get out of your page.
